Entry

General Requirements

  • No qualifying races required, but runners must have sufficient trail experience and be well-prepared.
  • The course is very tough and demanding with remote sections that can result in slower first aid / rescue response times. There are some very steep sections and parts are rough under foot. You must also have the ability to deal with difficult conditions, including strong winds, high and low temperatures and heavy rainfall. Ensure that you are in good health and that you do not have any illness that might hinder your ability to complete the event. It is your responsibility to monitor your health and condition during the event and to withdraw from the event if you are no longer well enough to continue safely.
  • Minimum age: 18 years old on race day. Younger participants may join with prior approval – please contact the Organisers.
  • The Organiser reserves the right to reject applicants who do not meet safety, health, or conduct requirements.

HONG KONG 100 ENTRY PROCEDURES

Who Needs to Enter the Ballot?

All races will likely be heavily over-subscribed. To ensure a fair application process, everyone wishing to take part MUST enter through the ballot, except for past winners, 2026 volunteers, runners that joined all 16 years of the race (2011 to 2026) and sponsor nominees.

This applies to all race categories.

The Hong Kong Government imposes strict participant limits: 1,800 for HK100, 500 for The Half and 500 for The Third. Once these limits are reached, we cannot accept additional entries or grant exceptions. Thank you for your understanding.

How to Enter the Ballot

  • You may register solo or as a pair (with one partner only).
  • Pairs will have the same chance of ballot success as individuals. Pairs must enter the ballot for the same race (not 2 different race distances). For pairs that are successful in the ballot, race entry and results will be done on an individual basis.
  • Each person may register for one distance only and only once for that distance. Dual entries will be deemed invalid.
  • You may not register on behalf of others (except when registering as a pair).
  • Each entrant must use a unique email address.
  • Use your full name in the English alphabet. If you have an ITRA account (www.itra.run), please use the same name format and provide your ITRA ID to ensure race results link correctly to your ITRA account and elite status can be verified.
  • Entry to the ballot and email notification of result is free. You may optionally purchase SMS notification of your ballot result.

  • If selected, you must complete full registration by Sunday 23rd August 2026.
